Anita Mulvey had always dreamed of being an author and had even started writing a couple of children's books which never got past the first few chapters because she was so busy in her job as a primary school teacher.

However, in April 2018, Anita suddenly went blind. This strange event, which could have been so devastating, forced her to retire early from teaching and gave Anita the unexpected opportunity to begin writing in earnest. With the help of specialist software and training from the charity Sight Matters (also known as the Manx Blind Welfare Society) Anita finally set upon her journey to fulfil her dreams. Anita says that even when we are faced with adversity, we must never give up hope!

Anita was born in Aldershot, Hampshire, and now lives and writes on the beautiful Isle of Man.

Anita's first book, 'Dragon Times', was published in 2022. Next came her Manx book 'The Fairy Bridge Fairies' during the summer of 2023 and then 'CB - a Very Special Cat' later that year. More books soon followed - 'Fairytales, the New Collection' and 'The Whimsical Collection' - which both contain strong characters, mysteries, magic and amazing animals, all of which are common themes in Anita's books. She continues to write, so look out for further titles coming soon!
